Alerts

Overview

The Alerts feature in DataDios enables you to configure conditions that proactively monitor metrics. When thresholds are crossed or anomalies are detected, notifications are triggered. This ensures timely awareness of performance issues and helps prevent failures before they escalate.

Alert Types

  • The Workload Alerts feature allows you to configure conditions that proactively monitor metrics. When the DataSources metrics are extracted, the alerts are triggered based on the conditions configured.

Managing Alerts

Navigate to Workspace → Alerts to view and manage all alerts.

Alerts List

You’ll see:

  • Alert Name
  • Evaluation Interval
  • Status (Active/Paused)
  • Last Triggered Time

Actions Available

  • Update → Modify threshold, condition, or recipients.
  • Pause/Resume → Temporarily stop the alert without deleting it.
  • Delete → Permanently remove the alert.

Delivery Channels

The Channels tab on Workspace → Alerts lists every destination alerts are delivered to (in-app, email, and data source) and shows how many rules route through each one. Any channel can be muted (this stops delivery for every rule that uses it) or deleted.

Editing a channel

Every channel except in-app also carries an Edit action, the pencil icon on the row:

  • Email channels → edit the Label and the Recipients list. The stored recipients are encrypted and never shown, so that field opens blank: leave it blank to keep the current recipients, or enter a new comma-separated list to replace them.
  • Data source channels → edit the Label only. Delivery and recipients for these are managed by the linked Messaging data source (Microsoft Teams or Slack).

Click Save changes to commit. A blank Label is rejected without saving, and an invalid recipient address is rejected when you save.

In-app delivery is automatic and has nothing to configure. Edits apply to every alert rule that delivers through that channel.

Viewing Notifications

Triggered alerts generate notifications inside the application and optionally via email.

In-App Notifications

  • Click the bell icon in the top bar.
  • The notification panel displays:
    • Alert Name
    • Triggered Time
    • Condition that was met
    • Severity Level

Clicking a notification lets you:

  • View the associated graph
  • See the full alert details
  • Mark it as read or acknowledge it

Search & Filter

  • Filter by status (Read / Unread)
  • Search by Alert Name or Time Range

Troubleshooting

  • Notification not received? → Check email settings or enable in-app notifications.
  • Alert not triggering? → Verify metric data and conditions.
  • Permission denied? → Ensure you have the necessary permissions to create and manage alerts.
