Overview

The DataDios user guide is organized to mirror the application's left navigation sidebar, grouped into four sections:

  • Workspace — Home, Dashboards, Alerts, and Learn
  • Products — DioS, Data Explorer, AI Studio, SmartDiff, Data Quality, Performance Analyzer, FinOps, and Lineage
  • Operations — S2P and P2P workflow migration tools
  • Manage — Identity & access, Integrations, Configuration, Scheduler, and Logs. Audit and Backups are coming soon.

Key Components​

Workspace​

Your landing area in DataDios. Home surfaces recent activity and shortcuts, Dashboards let you build custom monitoring views, Alerts proactively notify you when metric thresholds or anomalies are detected, and Learn is the in-app resource center for onboarding and tutorials.

DioS​

DataDios' AI-powered chatbot ("Ask DioS") gives you a conversational interface to ask questions about your data and navigate the platform.

Data Explorer​

The foundation of the DataDios platform that enables connections to external databases, APIs, files, and other data systems. Data Explorer provides the connectivity layer for all data operations, supporting various types including databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server), cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), file systems, and AI model integrations. Users can create, configure, import, and manage data source connections with built-in testing and monitoring capabilities.

AI Studio​

A unified interface that combines SQL execution with GenAI-powered assistance for seamless data exploration and analysis. AI Studio empowers users to interact with enterprise data sources using native SQL syntax while leveraging intelligent AI support for query generation, optimization, and debugging. It features a multi-tab SQL editor, natural language to SQL conversion, and integrated chat assistance for both technical and business users.

DataDios SmartDiff​

A powerful data validation tool that ensures easy, efficient, and secure validation of migrated data across various platforms. SmartDiff is built on Root Cause Analysis, Clustering, and Data Transformation architecture to enable automated data validation post-migrations. It supports both data source comparisons and file-based validations, providing detailed reports on differences, patterns, and data quality issues.

Data Quality​

Configure and manage data quality rules that validate and monitor the health of data across your connected sources.

Performance Analyzer​

Analyzes workload performance, resource utilization, and cost trends across your connected data sources, with dashboards and drill-down graphs for PostgreSQL and MySQL workloads.

FinOps​

Brings cloud infrastructure cost tracking and AI usage/evaluation cost monitoring together, helping teams understand and optimize spend.

DataDios Metadata Synchronization & Lineage​

A comprehensive metadata management solution that migrates and synchronizes metadata between any data sources, including databases and data governance systems. It supports all types of metadata and works seamlessly on both on-premises and cloud platforms. The feature includes Smart Delta processing, data lineage visualization, and comprehensive logging for tracking metadata changes over time.

Operations: S2P & P2P​

S2P converts DataStage Server jobs into Parallel jobs, while P2P converts DataStage Parallel jobs into Parallel jobs.

Manage​

Administrative tools for the platform, including Identity & access (users and resource sharing), Integrations, and Configuration (USS and queue configuration).

Getting Started​

To begin using DataDios:

  1. Assessment - Evaluate your current data landscape and requirements
  2. Data Explorer Setup - Configure connections to your databases, APIs, and file systems
  3. Planning - Design your data migration, validation, or synchronization strategy
  4. Configuration - Set up workflows for your specific use cases:
    • Configure SmartDiff for data validation projects
    • Set up Metadata Sync workflows for schema synchronization
    • Prepare AI Studio for data exploration and analysis
  5. Agent workflows - Agent workflows are available in the old interface only; they are not available under Manage in the new interface.
  6. Execution - Run your workflows:
    • Execute data validation comparisons with SmartDiff
    • Run metadata synchronization processes
    • Perform data analysis using AI Studio's SQL editor and AI assistant
  7. Monitoring - Track progress and review detailed reports across all modules, and configure Alerts for proactive monitoring
  8. Optimization - Fine-tune processes based on results, patterns, and performance metrics, including cost trends surfaced in FinOps
