Email a dashboard

Email now sends the dashboard you have open to any email addresses you type, as a PDF attachment. Only the owner of a dashboard can email it. If someone shared the dashboard with you, you will not see the button.

Send it​

  1. Open one of your dashboards. The dashboard needs at least one card.
  2. Select Email now in the header, next to Share.
  3. Type the recipients. You can use commas, semicolons, spaces or new lines between addresses. You can send to up to 20 addresses at once. An address that is not valid is named under the box once you type a separator after it or leave the box, and Send stays off until every address is fine.
  4. Add a note if you want one. It can be up to 500 characters and appears as plain text in the message.
  5. Choose the attachment:
    • Layout PDF is the dashboard as you see it, on landscape pages.
    • One PDF per card is a zip file holding one PDF for each card.
  6. Select Send. DataDios first builds the file, the same way Export does, and loads any card you have not scrolled to. The window reads "Preparing card 3 of 12…" while it works, and Cancel stops it without sending anything. Once the upload starts, the window stays open until the email is sent or has failed, so you can read the reason and try again.

The email comes from the DataDios sender address. Replies go to your own address.

The 3 MB limit​

An email attachment can be at most 3 MB. If yours is larger, DataDios tells you and nothing is sent. Choose Layout PDF instead of the zip, or take some cards off the dashboard, then try again.

What the file holds​

The attachment is the file Export would download: each card is printed in the state it is showing now, with the date range, drill steps and axis you have chosen. A table card shows the rows on screen, not every row.
